I have worked freelance over the last decade as an English tutor and literacy consultant. As much of the work has overlapped it is hard to list my experience in a conventional cv but here is an idea of the kind of experience I have:

  • I trained as a teacher of English Language (CELTA) at International House
  • I’m fully CRB checked
  • I have taught over 5000 hours of one to one English at KS2/3, 11 and 13+, common entrance, GCSE, iGCSE, IB and A-Levels and with all the major exam boards
  • I’ve worked with students who have gained entrance to many of the top private schools in the south of England, as well as south London Grammar Schools
  • I am an Associate Consultant with the National Literacy Trust
  • I’ve produced literacy resources for the NLT and the Oxford University Press. I produced the full course material for the NLT prisons’ project 2 years running
  • I have my own company producing ‘Life Writing’ – working with both adults and children on writing to a series of prompts and producing literacy resources
  • I’ve published a book of writing prompts through the company as well as a book on writing for the NLT
  • I’ve worked on intensive one to one English tuition in Italy, France, Monaco and Switzerland
  • I have worked with Connexus Academic for 7 years to an international client base
  • I produce my own literacy resources specifically for the 11+ based on learning skills
